ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Sliema is one of the most affluent areas and one of Malta's main hubs, a must-see for any visitor to Malta. The town of Sliema, or Tas-Sliema in Maltese, forms a significant part of Malta’s foremost commercial district, well known for its shopping, restaurants and cafe life. Once little more than a small fishing village, it grew exponentially during the British period, and went on to gain the reputation of destination of choice for the country’s upper-classes. The beautiful promenade is a lively area full of restaurants, bars, cafes, kiosks, as well as parks and playgrounds, and it’s very popular for long walks or to work out. The area is very well served by public transport and well connected to other popular areas such as St Julian, Gzira, Msida and Valletta. A lovely place where to live!
