QuickLets Supports the 10th QLZH Foundation Ocean Bed Clean-Up

At QuickLets, giving back to the communities we work in is something we take to heart – which is why we were proud to support the QLZH Foundation's Ocean Bed Clean-Up, celebrating its 10th edition this past Saturday, 12th September, at Ix-Xatt tal-Birgu.

The milestone event brought together over 80 volunteers, including 25 divers who worked below the surface to clear the seabed, alongside snorkelers, on-land volunteers, and SUP and kayak teams helping transport waste from the sea to the shore. A guided breathing and stretching session with Yogalex kicked off the morning, getting everyone prepped before heading into the water.

By the end of the day, volunteers had removed a remarkable 2.7 metric tonnes of rubbish from the seabed and surrounding coastline. The Mayor of Birgu, John Boxall, also attended to show his support.

QLZH Foundation CEO Steve Mercieca once again played a key role in the day, taking part alongside volunteers as he has done throughout the initiative's ten-year journey. His ongoing passion for marine conservation and community action continues to drive this event forward.

We're grateful to have been part of an initiative that brings so many people, businesses and organisations together for our environment, and we'd like to thank this year's sponsors and partners: Dr Juice, Dive Systems, EZ Creations, Visit Malta, BMIT, Laferla Insurance, Red Cross, Transport Malta, Birgu Local Council, Malta Surf Club, Sensi Watersports, VIBE FM, Legacy Ventures, Yogalex, TVS, Insynk and CLA.

Here's to ten years of cleaner seas – and many more to come!
